Children and young adults have very sensitive bodies. As children’s bodies begin to grow and change they can develop common health problems such as stomach aches, headaches, allergies, and sleeping problems. These can range from a mild irritation to problems that begin to effect a child’s life. Oriental Medicine and acupuncture or acupressure techniques can actually help children recover from illness and regain a state of balance in the body. By doing this children often sleep better and their symptoms begin to disappear.
Acupressure or Acupuncture techniques are used depending on the age and state the child is in. If the child is suffering from immune disorders or getting sick all the time, these techniques are a safe and natural way to boost the immune system. This is done by working with the bodies innate system to help to bring that immunity back.
Even small changes in a child’s diet can have a huge impact on their health. Asthma and allergies could be linked to chronic overuse of dairy or cold foods. The digestive system can be thrown off by eating too many raw fruits and vegetables, instead of cooked foods.
It’s important to address a child’s issues from the root condition up. This is where oriental medicine really digs deep into the reason why illness or disease is occuring in the first place. A child’s body is still growing and changing and by choosing a more natural approach for your child will just give them a better chance of getting and staying healthy in their adult life.
If someone develop symptoms as a child, often it plagues them until they are adults. I personally know from experience as a child, what it is like to develop chronic alleriges, ashtma, and skin conditions. I suffered with it for most of my childhood until my parents began to seek out treatment for me in the natural health field. We changed my diet, went to a chiropractor, took herbal supplements, and saw an acupuncturist. This changde my life as I began to get older and all my symptoms started to leave me. I even visted an allopathic allergist years after and he confirm that all my allergies that made me suffer my entire life had been COMPLETELY eliminated. As a natural health care practitioner, I was still skeptical of some natural modities. Until I began to see the massive changes in myself.
In my experience, I treat a lot of children with acupuncture and acupressure techniques. Children and parents tend to gravitate towards me for a few reasons. One, I am a female and many times that nuturing quaility in a practitioner allows some children to connect with me on a deeper level. They began to develop trust in me and how I can provide care to them. Another reason is that I have natural ability to express empathy towards them because I have been there. I know what it feels like from a personal realm and I know how to teach parents and/or children depending on their age how they can take charge of their health.
We live in a society now that unforunately does not always thrive on being healthy. Actually we are very, very sick. Children of younger and younger ages are suffering with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and attention disorders. We are spending more time away from the world via video games, social media, or television, and less time with our families and living healthy lifestyles.
THIS IS A PROBLEM. And it’s my mission to help change that for children and parents to give them options for keeping kids healthy and thriving. It just takes one child at a time.
